Soft Sculptures 2006 – 2007
Jyoti creates soft sculptures from everyday materials that are recycled and transformed into whimsical shapes. Using netting – selected for its color, texture and elasticity – and shredded magazines that reference pop culture, the artist allows chance to guide the works’ initial forms. The Fnal process of shaping compositions by folding and twisting the material contrasts with the subtractive process of carving that deFnes his wood sculptures.
