After working extensively in wood, Jyoti began exploring a medium that was more pliable and easy to shape. His definition of space through the juxtaposition of interior and exterior surfaces was carried over into clay. These sculptures are evocative of cave-like shelters and portals. In Kathmandu, Jyoti cast Maquette into brass using the lost-wax method.
Memorial for the Revolution was conceived to commemorate Nepal’s transition from monarchy to democracy. Conceptually, this work reflects the installations in Nepal that Jyoti dedicated to peace after a violent civil war.
